ABOUT THE SYMPOSIUM

The role of the modern CFO (Chief Financial Officer) has been further reinvented, especially after COVID. No longer limited to traditional financial oversight, today’s CFOs are essential strategic leaders within their organisations. They are tasked with driving innovation, shaping business strategy, and ensuring sustainable growth. This evolution now requires CFOs to possess a diverse skill set that includes financial expertise, technological acumen, and visionary leadership. As key architects of business transformation, modern CFOs are pivotal in navigating the complexities of the contemporary business landscape and steering their organisations toward future success.

During the World Economic Forum in January 2024, Thailand’s Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin emphasised on Thailand’s openness and readiness for new opportunities in four main areas - Accelerating FTA (Free Trade Agreement) negotiation, the Landbridge project, growing sustainable industries and adopting new technology such as AI and blockchain. According to Deloitte’s latest CFO study, CFOs in ASEAN listed global economic slowdown, geopolitical tensions and potential recession in the country as their top external risks in 2024. The top preemptive actions ASEAN CFOs are taking include doubling down on finance transformation and technology adoption to develop predictive capabilities, which are inline with what the Thailand Prime Minister has outlined.
AI (Artificial Intelligence) remains an important consideration with most CFOs exploring the benefits that include predictive capabilities that will significantly improve their FP&A (Financial Planning & Analysis) and forecasting functions. While AI adoption remains in the exploratory phase, the more common technology adoptions are electronic invoicing (e-invoicing), robotic process automation (RPA) and intelligence documentation.

There is a growing need for CFOs to collaborate internally with other departments, especially IT (Information Technology) and HR (Human Resources) for better synergy in the organisation. A whopping 72% of ASEAN CFOs listed talent retention as one of their top concerns, mainly due to the emergence of new technologies that now require employees to be skilled, reskilled or upskilled.

The 3rd DigitalCFO Asia Thailand Symposium 2024, themed "Thriving Amid Volatility - Essential Strategies in Times of Uncertainty", will bring together 120 Thai CFOs and finance leaders to share insights on how the role of CFO has been reinvented and strategies to consolidate and thrive in modern times of uncertainty. The symposium will serve as a platform for high-level networking, enabling CFOs and finance leaders to exchange best practices, leverage collective expertise and stay ahead in today’s rapidly changing business landscape. Join us at the 3rd DigitalCFO Asia Thailand Symposium where insights, expertise, and strategies converge to shape the future of finance in Thailand and beyond. Reserve your seat today to be part of this transformative symposium.
