Morris is a corporate executive and finance leader with over 20 years of diverse experience in strategic financial management, multi-asset investment, treasury, and financial risk management. In addition to his corporate roles, Morris is an entrepreneur and co-founder of EHL Academy, an EdTech company supported by a consortium of professional investors and esteemed professors from Oxford University.
Throughout his career, Morris has held various positions in leading multinational corporations and renowned organizations.
Currently, Morris serves as the Executive and Treasurer of the Hong Kong Jockey Club, where he manages a sizable department of over 40 staff members.
Before this role, Morris was the Executive Director at Standard Chartered Bank, where he successfully built strong client relationships and fostered strategic partnerships with leading global insurers across seven Asian markets. His focus was on tailoring financial solutions and driving innovative treasury digitalization initiatives.
As an experienced investment professional, Morris has played a key role in executing investment strategies, mitigating risks, and maximizing returns. He previously served as Director and Lead Portfolio Manager at Sun Life Financial and as Asso Group Director at AIA Group, overseeing the Headquarter’s capital, liquidity, and investment assets.
Early in his career, Morris also worked for Hong Kong Monetary Authority where he contributed to the investment management of the Exchange Fund specialising in monitoring the investment of global equities portfolios and selection of external fund managers.
Morris holds several professional designations, including Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and Treasury Professional (CTP). Additionally, Morris is a qualified Six Sigma Black Belt Change Manager, with a proven track record of streamlining complex business processes, enhancing operational efficiency, and implementing best practices.
