Throughout his extensive 18-year professional journey, Malcolm has consistently embraced expanding responsibilities, demonstrating leadership in diverse teams and projects, and possessing deep Finance experience across various industries.
He is currently serving as the Group CFO at Synagistics Limited (HKEX: 2562), a Hong Kong Exchange Main Board Listed Company where he led the IPO via Hong Kong's First De-SPAC as CFO, from planning, fundraising to eventual successful execution at a market capitalization of HKD 4.3 billion.
Synagistics is a digital solutions technology platform, providing solutions to over 600 brands across South-East Asia and Europe. In his prior role, Malcolm held the position of Director of Global Finance at Trax Retail Ltd., a unicorn in computer vision technology. Trax Retail Ltd. serves global brands and retailers in 90 countries with offices spanning North America, South America, Asia Pacific, Europe, and the Middle East.
Before joining Trax Retail Ltd., Malcolm played a pivotal role as the Group Head of Finance at Tessa Therapeutics Ltd., a Singapore-based biotechnology company specializing in cancer immunotherapy with the world’s largest T-cell therapy trial for any cancer indication across 30 hospitals and 4 laboratories in 5 countries.
Malcolm also served as the Asia Pacific Regional Finance Manager for BBDO, a US listed global advertising agency where he led 68 accounting and finance team members across the Asia Pacific region.
Strategically deployed to the U.S. by PwC for a 3-year stint, Malcolm gained valuable exposure at the corporate headquarters of a U.S. Fortune 100 technology company with a market cap of $100 billion. During this time, he managed full-scope integrated audits including the treasury function, revenue, SEC filings, and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls.
Possessing more than 8 years of audit experience as an Audit Manager with PwC, Malcolm successfully managed audits for major multinational publicly listed and private corporations spanning diverse sectors such as technology, manufacturing, FMCG, industrial products and semiconductors.
Malcolm’s skill set encompasses IPO readiness and execution, board and investor relations, fundraising and financing, corporate finance, FP&A, budgeting, treasury, working capital, management accounting and reporting, ERM, internal controls (US SOX, HK PN21), IFRS, IAS, U.S. GAAP, PCAOB, SEC, HKEX and SFC disclosures.
During his university days, Malcolm demonstrated leadership as the Club President for the Nanyang Technological University Investment Interactive Club.
